METHI PARATHA(FENUGREEK INDIAN BREAD)

Methi (Fenugreek) is cultivated throughout the country and used as vegetable in various eatables. It is a source of iron and B-complex, hence can be used in general weakness.

Last week I made methi paratha(Indian bread).Methi paratha is a flat bread made with fresh fenugreek leaves and whole wheat flour.

This paratha is very good for health. So we eat at least once a month. It can be eaten at breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is good to eat even after a few hours. Everyone will love it.:)

Ingredients:-
1.
1 bunch methi(fenugreek) leaves washed ,chopped

2. 1 tsp red chili powder

3.1+1/2 tb cumin-coriander powder

4. 1 tb ginger-garlic paste

5.1/2 turmeric powder

6. About 2 cup wheat flour

7. salt to test

8. oil or butter(ghee)

Procedure:-
1.
Add salt into chopped methi leaves and mix it.Keep it aside for 15,20 min. Then add all ingredients except oil or butter(ghee).2. Mix well and knead a soft dough. If you need water then add small quantity of water.Do not add too much water.Spread 1/2 tb. oil over the dough, cover and keep aside for 1/2 hr.
3. Make a small size ball.Take one ball and dip in dry flour.
4. Roll out this ball into a a small disc.Meanwhile heat the tava on medium heat.Keep dipping the dough into the dry flour while rolling. So it doesn't stick.
5. Place the rolled paratha(Indian bread) on tava. When bubbles start to form, flip the paratha over.
6. After about 10,15 sec. ,spread the paratha with a little oil or butter and flip over.Spread the other side with a little oil or butter and flip over again. When paratha cooked on both side, place them in the container and close the lid to keep them hot7. Serve hot with yogurt or any curry.

ENJOY :)
